TIN Commissioner Kuroda Awarded The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays (Held On 06/12/2007)

Mr. K. Kuroda, Commissioner of TIN, received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays and an award-giving ceremony took place at the Japanese ambassador’s residence in Indonesia on June 12th.

Mr. S. Ebihara, the Japanese ambassador to Indonesia personally presented the Order to Mr. Kuroda, showing appreciation for his thirty years of work in Indonesia as a businessman. He also mentioned Mr. Kuroda’s great contributions not only to amicable Japanese-Indonesian relations, mainly through spreading Judo, but also to the Japanese community in Indonesia using his extensive network of contacts.

In his speech in front of the many people gathered for the celebrations, Mr. Kuroda looked back on his history in Indonesia, which started in 1971 when he was sent to Indonesia for the first time, expressing his gratitude by saying: “It’s really more honor than I deserve to receive the Order. I would like to express my thanks to the people of Indonesia and Japan. For the past thirty years, I have been fascinated by the generous and heartwarming people of Indonesia.”
