Toray Industries (China) Co., Ltd. (TCH)
Sponsoring Orchestra Asia Concerts in Nantong (Held On 09/20-21/2007)

Beautiful sounds cross borders

The year 2007 marks the 35th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, and has been a year for promoting cultural and sports exchanges between the two countries.
On September 20th and 21st, Orchestra Asia performed at the Gengsu Theatre in Nantong, and Toray sponsored for 20th day performance to help promote cultural exchange.

As a main attraction, conductors and members of the orchestra from China, Japan and Korea played the traditional instruments of their countries in harmony, fascinated the audience. Performances of Mongolian music featuring the matouqin (horsehead fiddle), and khoomii (throat singing), were especially impressive and the audience was amazed by their marvelous sounds.

In Nantong City, a plant for the new group company, named Toray Polytech (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TPN), is under construction. There are three Toray Group companies based in Nantong: Toray Fibers (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TFNL), Toray Sakai Weaving & Dyeing (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TSD), and Toray Fibers & Textiles Research Laboratories (China) Co., Ltd. (TFRC). TPN is a joint venture between Toray Saehan Inc. (TSI) based in Korea, Toray and Toray Industries (China) Co., Ltd. (TCH). We hope that staff members of the Toray Group from China, Japan and Korea will play in harmony with one another, just like Orchestra Asia.
