14th Awards Ceremony (Held On 02/13/2008)

The 14th award presentation of ITSF took place on February 13 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta, with over 300 guests and attendants, including Dr. K. Maeda, Honorary Chairman of Toray Industries, Inc., Dr. Fasli Jalal, Deputy Minister, Department of National Education, Mr. Bambang Setiadi, Deputy Minister of Research and Technology Ministry, and Mr. S. Ebihara, Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia. Also in attendance were not only recipients of the annual Science and Technology Awards, Science Education Awards, and Science and Technology Research Grant, but also recipients of the Best Presenter Awards, which was presented at the ceremony for those reading research papers the day before the presentation, and they received a loud round of applause.

For this year’s lecture, Dr. Mardjono Siswosuwarno, professor of Aerospace Engineering Department of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and one of key members of National Technical Services Association, was invited to discuss the “Role of Research on Aviation Accidents in Improving Aviation Safety,” and those in attendance listened earnestly to the lecture.
