Toray Takes Part in the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2008 (06/23/2008)

SIWW is an annual water event for senior government officials, top industry leaders, leading water specialists and practitioners to meet and discuss policies, business solutions and water technologies. The aim of SIWW is to create business and technology networking opportunities amongst water experts from around the world.

Toray is proud to take part in the SIWW, held from 23 to 27 of June. We took part in the Water Expo. It is an international water tradeshow that focuses on water innovation, products, services, best practices, successful case studies and practical applications of water technologies. All of Toray’s membrane products were displayed during the Expo, and we received many visitors, which include the Prime Minister of Singapore Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, Japan Ex-Prime Minister Mr. Y. Mori and Mayor of Yokohama city Mr. H. Nakada.

Aside from taking part in the Expo, Toray also contributed to SIWW by sponsoring a concert – The Water & Crouching Tiger Concerto. It was held at Singapore’s most famous concert hall – The Esplanade. Many top industry leaders, government officials and academia were invited. The guest-of-honor for the concert was the President of Singapore. SIWW, which was attended by more than 8,800 representatives from governments, utilities providers, businesses and academia, was organized by the Public Utilities Board of Singapore (PUB) and is successful example on the efforts put forth by PUB and its Government to make Singapore the global water hub.
