Launching Training Course for Shift Leaders (Jan. 19-20, 2010)
TTH, in cooperation with Toray Group Production Committee, organized the first Toray Group Companies in Thailand Shift Leader Training (TSL) on January 19 and 20.
The purpose of this course was to achieve expectations in developing and reinforcing shift leaders who are a significant part of production in becoming competent chiefs, in being able to think, learn and adapt to the changing environment appropriately as well as in learning effective two-way communication.
Forty shift leaders from Toray Group companies in Thailand participated and it was presided over by Mr. Warun Laoitthi, the Deputy Managing Director of Luckytex (Thailand) Public Company Limited (LTX). He also gave a presentation on expectations from management, which all participants could understand and adapt to their work effectively.
Second session was the workshop by an external consultant, Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan), on the topic “Competency Development for Shift Leaders”. It contained the three main subjects of Ho-Ren-So (the abbreviation for Japanese words, Hokoku : Reporting, Renraku : Communication, and Sodan :Consulting, an effective communication), roles of the chief, and leadership skills. During the workshop, small group discussions and presentations at the end of each session stimulated the participants.
Lastly, the participants were divided into eight groups and each presented their results from group discussions on the objectives selected and also figured out an action plan in front of the Production Committee in a Q&A format. This was a good opportunity for them to share ideas and exchange experiences with each other from real case studies.
Hopefully, they will apply and implement the knowledge learned at work in order to effectively develop and improve their performance.
