This year, we have been totally excited to ride on waves of synergy - TSCH, THK¹, TPHK², RKH³, TFH⁴, THAL Apparel, Ltd. and TMHK⁵ have brought forces together in accelerating CSR practices in the companies. Such forces are not limited to the actions being ever taken by our Hong Kong Group’s top management and CSR committee members, but include the on-the-go involvement of all staff in the CSR designing and development process.

Having had CSR briefings for new hirees last year, this year, we gave all staff a glimpse into the roles that Toray Industries, Inc. and our Hong Kong companies play in changing the ways and attitudes we live and work through delivering a CSR induction program. The program was conducted in three identical sessions in May, and staff were acquainted with Toray’s and Hong Kong Group’s vision, principles and major activities that embrace CSR. They were meanwhile encouraged to speak in front of the program and on the subsequent questionnaires.

The induction program was purely simple. It is, nonetheless, believed to enable staff to ramp up their ideas, initiatives and efforts that help maximize contribution to the stakeholders, including our community and the staff themselves. We see it as a successful and celebrative move along with the more energetic participation of every single member in the companies and thence, we plan to do a second round focused on a specific topic later this year!
