TM Textiles & Garments Ltd. (TMBD), our newly established manufacturing company in Bangladesh, started vertical production from knitting and dyeing to sewing on 11 August.

Prior to this start, on 8 July, the launching ceremony of TMBD was held successfully with more than 200 guests and participants. Mr. Yoshihiro Kunii, Director of FAST RETAILING CO., LTD.¹, Mr. Yukihiro Sugimoto, Executive Vice President of Toray Industries, Inc., and other distinguished guests gathered to celebrate the opening event.

On 20 July, UNIQLO CO., LTD.² and Toray had a press conference to announce the agreement for “Second Five-year Plan under Strategic Partnership”. It mentioned that Toray established TMBD as a new base of production for UNIQLO in Bangladesh.

In Toray Group, TMBD is situated as the important base of “China plus one,” and mainly produces innerwear with advanced functions like HEATTECH. As a challenge to the first vertical factory in Bangladesh, we, all Toray Hong Kong Group members, are expecting TMBD will become the world’s number one knitted fabrics and garments manufacturing company.
