Some Special Jackets to Our Local Fire Brigade (03/01/2008)

A few months ago, SOFICAR offered to the Pyrenees-Atlantiques fire brigade 65 jackets especially designed for the medical staffs (doctors and nurses) that helps the firemen each time they are called out. The fire brigade organized a ceremony where the local press was invited to formally introduce the jackets and to show their gratitude to SOFICAR.

The medical staff itself designed the jacket in accordance with the last safety requirements, in particular as regards night visibility. James Iacino, who belongs to the medical staff of Mourenx fire brigade, close to the SOFICAR plant, was the leader of this project. It took about one year to realize this specific jacket, which includes reflective strips and many pockets for drips and other small medical instruments such as syringes, bandages or medicines. Last year, the medical staff of the fire brigade administered emergency assistance to 4,350 people in our area. SOFICAR is very proud to contribute to making the work of emergency teams easier: we can see on an everyday basis and the world over that their help is invaluable to us.
