A Ceremony for the New Plant of TORAYCA* Prepreg (Held On 08/29/2007)

On August 29th, a ceremony for dedicating the site for the construction of the new TORAYCA* Prepreg Plant took place at the Ishikawa Plant in accordance with Japanese tradition. Many guests attended, including Mr. Y. Mori, former prime minister of Japan, Mr. M. Tanimoto, prefectural governor of Ishikawa, and Mr. T. Sakai, city mayor of Nomi City. From Toray, Mr. A. Nikkaku, Executive Vice President, Mr. K. Tomiita, Senior Advisor, Mr. M. Kamiura, Senior Vice President, Mr. T. Takeda, Senior Vice President, Mr. M. Onishi, Vice President, and Mr. S. Okuda, Vice President, participated along with other staff members. There were about 80 participants in total at the ceremony.

It proceeded solemnly with a series of rituals such as the cutting of weeds with a sickle, groundbreaking, and the dedication of a sacred branch for the safe completion of the construction, carried out by guests and top executives of Toray headed by Mr. Nikkaku.

After the ritual, the groundbreaking ceremony was held at the plant canteen. Following the opening speech by Mr. Nikkaku, Mr. Mori and other guests offered their congratulations. Through cordial discussions with guests, local residents and institutions, the participating members of Toray were reminded of the strong expectations regarding the construction of new plant.
