The opening ceremony and press conference of Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) Global Water Recycle System Association Japan took place on January 16 at the Keidanren Kaikan in Tokyo. The association aims to integrate outstanding Japanese water treatment technologies and expertise, solve “water issues,” and develop new water businesses globally.

There are over 1.1 billion people worldwide who are unable to access clean drinking water and about 2.5 billion lacking sanitation. We expect a positive future for the water business and believe the association will also make a significant contribution to the society that are suffered from water shortage. Twentyeight companies including Toray and Hitachi Plant Technologies, Ltd. make up the association. The government, research institutes, and local governments provide indirect support.
As well, public and private sectors will work together hand-in-hand.
