Q1. What was your most impressive work?
I controlled the zero waste water effluents project that was implemented at the plant to treat 100 percent of the water the plant generates and re-use it in the processes. Plus having a sustainable and environmental friendly vision when keeping the operation in control, also quality improvement, production volume and expansion timing was a great achievement for me and the whole Precursor Fiber team.
Q2. What does your company do?
Zoltek manufactures precursor polymer, precursor fiber and large-tow carbon fiber as well as technical fiber for industrial aerospace applications. Our main market is wind blade manufacturers.
Q3. What does your department/section do and what work are you in charge of?
Our department manufactures the precursor fiber that is used as raw material for carbon and technical fibers. Currently I am in charge of the precursor fiber manufacture.
Q4. What kind of job do you mainly put a lot of effort into?
Everything related to coaching my colleagues to achieve better results or develop new ways to make safer, faster, cheaper and better processes. That is what I feel most passionate about.
Q5. When do you feel rewarded at work?
When I realize that my daily activities will help assure sustainable jobs and a life projection for my colleagues and their families, and when I recognize that our job makes a positive impact on the safety and environment for many families in Mexico, I feel rewarded.
Q6. What is it that you put a lot of effort into in your personal life?
My greatest efforts are focused on keeping those who are close to me happy and well.
I have recently become a father. My first son, Fernando, is almost two years old, and my daughter Ana Paola is four months old. My wife and I are totally in love with these little fellows. I also count on my wife to take care of me.
Fortunately, I still have my parents with me. My entire family’s health and well-being are my highest priority.
