Toray Membrane Europe AG (TMEu)
Technical Services
Robert K. Reisewitz

  1. Q1. What does your company do?
TMEu is a trading arm of the Toray Membrane Department. We provide Toray’s membrane products for water treatment to Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
  2. Q2. What does your department/section do and what work are you in charge of?
“Technical Services” provides not only “classical” after-sales services, but also a pre-sales consultation on the application of our membrane products. The former includes commissioning assistance for water treatment units using membrane technology and troubleshooting with membrane products. We also support our sales team in the sales process, providing reliable and consistent backup information on technical details of our products.
  3. Q3. What kind of job do you mainly put a lot of effort into?
It is very important for us at our work to accurately understand what our clients really are looking for and offer our services most suitable to their actual needs. The “art of listening” is essential here.
  4. Q4. When do you feel rewarded at work?
I always try hard to correctly anticipate any trouble that might occur with the client’s application. When my anticipation is correct and the solution I provide to the client succeeds to solve the problem in advance, I feel rewarded.
  5. Q5. What was your most impressive work?
My work is a typical background role, hence I’d rather tell you what was the most fun. That was the development and realization of a small “pilot unit “ for sea water desalination by membranes, which helped Toray sign several major contracts in the arid areas in the world. It’s just great to see that something actually comes out well!
  6. Q6. What is it that you put a lot of effort into in your personal life?
Making myself a useful part of life on earth and contributing to its future. The key to this is to keep my mind open, speak and listen to people carefully, and constantly learn new ways to see the world. I also put a lot of effort into understanding and loving the people I live and work with, and I care a lot about the so-called “small things”. The total of “everyday’s life” is what, after all, makes up the basis of everything, so this is what I look at in the first place.
