Toray's Theme: “Cutting-Edge Technology to Leading-Edge Ecology”
Major theme of the exhibit this year was WATER as in “Creating Water,” “Safe Water” and “Protect Water Circulation” while other themes were “CO₂ Reduction with PLA,” “Recycling-based Society” and “Energy Conservation”. Our activities under these themes were explained through products and panels. Toray's position to tackle the issues of CO₂ reduction and water environment protection were introduced by game format, demonstrated at the “Interactive Stage” set in front of the booth. A large-size actual apparatus of Toray Reverse Osmosis membrane and seawater desalination plant displayed as a background of the stage, as well as the fuel-cell-powered “Future Car” with structural parts made of TORAYCA* and engineering plastics set in the center of the booth, attracted many visitors. Experimental setup with TORAYROM*, water purifier for disaster preparation, TORAYVINO*, and TORAYCOOL* provided visitors including school children, a hands-on experiences for deeper understanding.
