To qualify for the World Athletics Championships (World Championships ), which were scheduled to take place in Budapest in August this year, athletes needed to place within the target number of 48 slots designated for the World Championships. That number is based on the athlete’s performance score * achieved in the World Rankings, which are calculated from July 31, 2022. through July 30, 2023. Continental Tour Gold events hold a higher tournament ranking, and owing to the results of this event, Sani Brown entered the range of the target number.

  • Performance score is the sum of the record score awarded based on race records and the ranking score is awarded based on placement in each event.
