WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS BUDAPEST 23 Men's 100m

At the World Athletics Championships 2023 held in Budapest, Hungary, on August 18th, Abdul Hakim Sani Brown achieved a sixth place finish in the men's 100m event.

In the qualifying rounds held on August 19th,Sani Brown ran in the sixth heat. On the grand stage of the World Championships, he recorded his personal-best time of the season with 10.07 seconds, securing the first place in his heat and advancing to the semifinals.

The semifinals were held August 20th.. Racing under stringent conditions that allowed only the top two competitors from each heat and the next two fastest times overall to progress to the final, Sani Brown appeared in the first heat. He qualified for the final with a second-place finish in his heat, clocking a personal-best time of 9.97 seconds.

At the final, held two and a half hours after the semifinals, he recorded a time of 10.04 seconds. Rising from seventh place in the 2022 World Athletics Championships to a sixth place finish, he secured a position equal to the highest rank Japan held in men's 100m, including the Olympics, achieved ninety-one years ago.
