Toray Group has formulated a long-term corporate vision for a ten-years span and to realize the vision, we have launched new mid-term business strategies to tackle with management reforms.
In April 2006, Toray celebrated its 80th year anniversary in its business. Taking this opportunity, Toray adopted "AP-Innovation TORAY 21," new long-term corporate vision that will guide Toray Group to achieve further advances and development.
To accomplish the vision, the Group launched the new mid-term business strategies "Project Innovation TORAY 2010 (IT-2010)," which has defined management goals, major management issues and basic strategies around 2010, in October 2006.
The corporate slogan of the new vision, "Innovation by Chemistry," reflects our desire to become a "global top company of advanced materials" by pursuing technological innovation through full utilization of its core technologies and their integrated technologies. In addition, we will seek to become a global top company of advanced materials by promoting "Innovation" in every facet of our business activities.
Under IT-2010, we are targeting "Innovation" across five key management issues: business structure, technologies, competitiveness, business-awareness, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). To promote these innovations, we are initiating eight group-wide projects through which we aim to transform management and give it a strong innovation-oriented approach. Our ultimate target set for around 2010, is to achieve consolidated net sales of ¥1,800 billion and consolidated operating income of ¥150 billion.
