Toray's Entrant New Supplier Name on Ski Team Uniforms |
| A new logo is on the US and Canadian Ski Team uniforms this
year. Entrant, a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Inc. of Japan, has
been named an official supplier to the teams, and will have coveted and prominent
logo exposure on the team's race suit sleeves. Entrant is a waterproof, breathable
fabric used in athletic apparel applications, and will be used in the team's
outerwear uniforms. Toray, a leading manufacturer of high-performance technical
materials, is the first Japanese company to sign on as a fabric sponsor to the
US Alpine Ski Team and the Canadian Alpine Ski Team. Toray's sponsorship is in
conjunction with Spyder Active Sports, a sponsor of both ski teams. Toray in
effect co-sponsors the Spyder logo patch that is sewn onto team uniforms. This
high visibility sponsorship will help boost Entrant's name recognition in ski
markets worldwide. The patch will be sewn on the outerwear jackets and competition suits for team athletes, staff, trustees, and sponsors of the US and Canadian Alpine Teams. Entrant will not only gain exposure in media visuals, but will be able to proclaim their relationship on marketing materials and corporate identification, thereby heightening the publicity they receive. The sponsorship breaks on the 20th anniversary of Entrant's importation by Spyder into the U.S. The partnership will run through the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Spyder is an Official Supplier to the US Alpine, US Disabled, Canadian Alpine, and Canadian Freestyle Ski Teams. The brand also supports Team Venom, a troupe of vanguard freeskiers. Based in Boulder, Colorado, the company sells high performance outerwear and sportswear in the United States and Canada. Spyder is sold in 50 countries outside of North America through the Spyder-Europe office in Zug, Switzerland, and through independent distributors around the world. |
