Bamboo ("Take") is a plant that can increase in height by a full meter in a single day during its high-growth period. Compared to timber, which once felled normally require some 60 years to grow back, bamboo repeats a growth cycle of two to three years. The result is a natural eco-friendly material, which even when harvested has little if any impact on the balance of the natural environment, while bamboo also offers the advantage of many superb natural traits. With SO–TAKE*, Toray has created a highly advanced composite material through the combination of eco-friendly bamboo fiber as the raw material and the Company's own specialized polyester and acrylic fiber.
