Toray Industries, Inc. started in 1926 as a rayon yarn production company. Since then, we have developed new materials and expanded our business globally as a basic materials manufacturer, offering a wide range of cutting-edge materials and high-value-added products, including fibers, plastic resins, fine chemicals, films, carbon fiber composite materials, electronics & information-related products, pharmaceutical and medical products, and products for the water treatment and environmental fields.
Materials form the foundation of all industries, and their evolution and functional improvements are essential for industrial development. We take pride in our role as a driving force behind global economic growth and societal innovation.
Toray Group currently has sales revenue of approximately 2.5 trillion yen and over 300 group companies in Japan and overseas.
By developing applications for high-value-added products developed and created in Japan in regions all over the world, we have achieved a continuous growth cycle on a global scale. We will continue to place importance on sustainability, strive to further enhance our corporate value, and meet the expectations of our stakeholders.
In the 1990s, Toray marketed itself as a company building the future with new materials, from fashion to aerospace development.
Today, Toray's fibers provide beautiful and comfortable clothing to people around the world, while our carbon fibers are used in state-of-the-art satellites, making what was once a science fiction dream in the 1990s into a reality.
Going forward, Toray will continue to map yet-uncharted futures, develop cutting-edge materials that inspire excitement, and deliver new value to society.
