  1. Q1. What does your company do?
THK is a trading company. We sell garments, textiles, fibres, plastic films, and advanced materials & products, etc.
  2. Q2. What does your department/section do and what work are you in charge of?
I am in the Garment Division. Our garment business includes innerwear, sportswear, and bridal dresses. The majority of the garments are produced in China, but some of our orders are also produced in Vietnam. I am in change of the bridal dress business, which includes some administrative duties.
  3. Q3. What kind of job do you mainly put a lot of effort into?
Numerous negotiations often take place between customers and manufacturers. New bridal dress designs involve developing, sampling, pricing, ordering lead-time, ensuring quality and delivery schedules. In terms of management, the accuracy of our sales performance with the sales staff is of utmost importance.
  4. Q4. When do you feel rewarded at work?
When garment sales are profitable without customers filing any claims, customers are satisfied with all the production arrangements and orders continue to increase.
  5. Q5. What was your most impressive work?
The most impressive aspect of my work was to always attain the customer’s requirements and satisfaction. Since garment production involves many different material suppliers and manufacturers, I often had to manage numerous unforeseeable and difficult situations during the production process. Establishing mutual trust between customers and factories is one of the most challenging aspects of being a merchandiser.
  6. Q6. What is it that you put a lot of effort into in your personal life?
After a tough but rewarding day at the office, there is nothing better than spending quality time with my family, especially my daughter. During my daughter’s term breaks or summer holidays, we often enjoy spending time travelling and shopping. I am always on the look out for tasty cuisine and good restaurants for get-togethers with friends and family.
