Our People ―Let Me Introduce My Work, My Company, and Myself
Maintaining Safety and Quality to Achieve Company Targets
Composite Materials (Italy) s.r.l. (CIT)
Q1. What was your most impressive work?
The most impressive work for me was, and is still ongoing, is to start up our new prepreg production line (Line 4) which was installed at the beginning of March 2017. I’m proud that I could engage in this challenging job from which I learned a lot about the production management way of Toray Group.
Q2. What does your company do?
My company develops, manufactures and sells advanced composite materials (fabrics and prepregs) mainly based on carbon fiber. Our products are mainly used in racing cars, luxury cars and also various industrial applications.
Q3. What does your department/section do and what work are you in charge of?
I belong to the Production Department that produces resins to be impregnated, fabrics and prepregs. I, as one of the shift leaders, a position newly introduced in CIT last year, am responsible for all activities in the workshop; manufacturing as well as safety and product quality.
Q4. What kind of job do you mainly put a lot of effort into?
I put a lot of effort into training all the operators in the correct working procedures that are in line with safety and quality to achieve the company targets.
Q5. When do you feel rewarded at work?
My company’s business nature is flexibility on production schedules and is required to match the customer’s expectations. I really feel rewarded at work when, together with my colleagues, we could overcome difficult tasks on flexible production and satisfy our customers.
Q6. What is it that you put a lot of effort into in your personal life?
In my private life, most of my energy is spent on breeding and training my racing dogs (greyhounds). With my partners, I participate in several dog races held across Europe. This also allows me to travel around various European countries in my motor caravan and learn about cultures different from those of my country.
