Apr. 24, 2023

Toray Industries (Malaysia) Sdn. Berhad (TML)

TML welcomed four junior high school students from the Penang Japanese School to the company for two days on January 19 and 20, 2023 for experiencing the workplace.

The workplace experience program started with plant tours of Penfibre Sdn. Berhad (PFR) and Penfabric Sdn. Berhad (PAB), which was followed by a Q&A session with Japanese employees. The students asked questions regarding the difficulties in working with people from a different culture as well as the positive and negative points of Toray Group, and the employees provided answers enthusiastically.

At the end, the participants held group discussions on the theme of how to improve PET bottle recycling rate in Malaysia and the students confidently presented their ideas in front of the managing directors and deputy managing directors of Toray Group companies in Malaysia.

We hope the work experience program provided a good opportunity to the participants to deepen their understanding of the reality of manufacturing floors, importance of recycling, and to think about their own future careers.
