TOKYO - Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Executive Committee today announced Top 20 players of singles main draw entries in Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis 2014, to be held September 13 – 21, 2014 at Ariake Colosseum and Ariake Forest Park.
Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis that many world top players have participated in and is worth the level of the 2nd week of the Grand Slam, has attracted the attention of people from both inside and outside Japan. This year many world leading players will gather at Ariake.
Angelique Kerber ranking No.7, Dominika Cibulkova, the runner-up of Australian Open 2014, and former world ranking No. 1 players including Jelena Jankovic, Ana Ivanovic, Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki, will play. Furthermore, Japanese ace player, Kurumi Nara who won the first title in her career in February 2014 and recently became the runner-up at the Citi Open, could make her entry due to the moving up of her world ranking. It will be the first time in this year for her and Kimiko Date-Krumm together to play in Japan.
Kimiko Date-Krumm will also be playing doubles with wild card. Her performance in both singles and doubles will attract the public attention.
