My Thoughts on Research

Corporate research that responds to social needs is worthwhile work, as it's capable of helping society to flourish by providing new value in the form of products. The field of electronic and information materials I'm involved in has a fast product cycle, so we need to be constantly challenging ourselves to keep producing products using new technologies. It's certainly not easy, but the key to making this possible is to continually pursue fundamental principles and intuitive breakthroughs. To date, we have produced more than 30 products in our pursuit of the ultimate limits of functional polymers, including polysiloxane and polyimide, which have been used in semiconductors, displays, smartphones, and more. With the coming arrival of smart societies, I would like us to continue to honing our intuition for our research initiatives and become a new value creator that continually produces innovative functional materials.
