TOKYO - Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Executive Committee today announced that the world top 5 players intend to participate in the Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament 2015 to be held on September 19 – 27, 2015 at Ariake Colosseum and Ariake Forest Park.
Following 5 players expressed their intention to play in this tournament: Ana Ivanovic, the defending champion who won 4 WTA tour titles last year (No.6/SRB), Caroline Wozniaki who was the runner up for the US open and PPO last year (No.5/DEN), Agnieszka Radwanska who was the champion for PPO 2011 and the runner up for the Winbledon 2012 (No.13/POL), Eugenie Bouchard who reached Best 16 or higher in all Grand Slams last year and was the runner up for the Wimbledon 2014 (No.11/CAN), and Angelique Kerber, No.1 player in Germany (No.10/GER). All of them have been ranked in Top 10 at the previous year-end ranking, and have even been ranked in world Top 5. In short, world top players representing women’s tennis will gather in Ariake this autumn.
