On June 2, 2015, PAB achieved another significant milestone when it acquired the STeP by OEKO-TEX® certification for Sustainable Textile Production from the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology (OEKO-TEX®), headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. This is an independent certification issued by the OEKO-TEX®, and is highly coveted by companies committed to sustainable production in the textile supply chain.
Incidentally, since 1996, PAB has been certified for OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 for safe products, with all its raw materials tested for harmful substances and approved by OEKO-TEX®. Having obtained both the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and STeP by OEKO-TEX® certifications, PAB has qualified to use the "Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®" label, becoming the first integrated textile company in the world to be accorded this honor.
The STeP by OEKO-TEX® certification consists of six critically important modules of an excellent and responsible organization: Quality Management, Environmental Management, Environmental Performance, Chemical Management, Occupational Safety and Health, and Social Responsibility. PAB fulfilled the strict requirements through appropriate measures on Safety and Environment, Ethics and Fairness, Customer Focus, Sustainable Production, and Global Competitiveness. These principles are enshrined in its corporate guidelines.
With the STeP by OEKO-TEX® certification, existing and potential customers can be rest assured that PAB is sustainable and reliable in both its products and processes. As the OEKO-TEX® certifications are very effective and trustworthy, PAB may gain business advantage especially in advanced countries such as the United States or in the European Union (EU) where customers are much more concerned about sustainability, environmental preservation and respect for human rights. Moreover, duplication of audits by multiple or potential customers may be reduced, thereby saving time and resources.;
