TTS Bangkok Factory, which is celebrating its 48th anniversary, is witnessing rapid development of the residential area around it and has been actively working on social contributions to the local community and building friendships with the residents.
As a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity, the factory prepared the Thai version of the Toray Industries, Inc.'s initiative in Japan of teaching experimental science class at local schools, and carried it out on August 21, 2015 at the Ban Bua Mol School for 60 sixth grade students.
The employees spent more than half a year preparing for the project, as they studied the science syllabus in the country, coordinated with the officials of the administrative zone and neighboring elementary schools, requested support from Toray's CSR Operations Dept., prepared the teaching materials in Thai and trained lecturers. TTS lecturers were welcomed at the school with an unexpected ceremony and the students and teachers responded to the class very well as the project ended in a big success.
Thailand holds a science week in mid-August every year and various activities are held during the week. TTS has already received requests from other neighboring elementary schools for such direct educational support. We plan to expand the scope of this initiative in the future to further strengthen the relationship with our stakeholders.
