On December 7, 2015, the Toray Group in Malaysia (hereinafter referred to as "TGM") rolled out the red carpet to welcome YB Dato' Seri Idris bin Jusoh, the Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia who visited TGM for the first time, together with Professor Dato' Dr. Omar Osman, the Vice-Chancellor, and Dato' Dr. See Ching Mey, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The honorable Minister was warmly received at Penfabric Sdn. Berhad (PAB) by Toray Industries, Inc. President Akihiro Nikkaku, Senior Vice President Yukichi Deguchi, and Senior Director Katsuyuki Yamada as well as managing directors and other staff members of TGM.
The minister was given a brief overview of Toray and TGM, after which he took part in a tree planting ceremony at PAB and a photo session with the management staff of TGM. Later at the film plant tour of Penfibre Sdn. Berhad (PFR), the minister was impressed by the state-of-the-art operations at the polyester film-making facilities. He also conveyed the government's appreciation to Toray for its vast contributions towards the economic, social, science and technology as well as educational development of Malaysia.
It was a fruitful exchange among Toray, USM and the Ministry of Higher Education.
