The Toray Pan Pacific Open (TPPO) Tennis Tournament 2017 〈dates: Saturday, September 16, 2016 – Sunday, September 24, 2017 / venue: Ariake Coliseum & Ariake Tennis Park tennis courts〉 will have 20 direct entries and 1 wild card entry.

The TPPO enters its 34rd year with a proud history as one of the top tournaments in world women's tennis. Every year, the world's top-ranked players have gathered in Japan, the focus of the tennis world’s rapt attention, for premier matches played on the grounds of Ariake Tennis Park.

This year’s TPPO will once again see world’s leading players including world top-ranked Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic), world 3rd-ranked Angelique Kerber (Germany) making a strong comeback, world 5th-ranked and TPPO’s defending champion Carline Wozniack (Denmark), and world 6th-ranked Garbiñe Muguruza (Spain) who has 2 titles of Grand Slam.

A wild card entrant and previous year’s runner-up Naomi Osaka (Japan), currently ranked 44th, is gaining positive recognition in the tennis world. Her fans are waiting to see her 200km/h “bullet train” service with their own eyes.
