In November and December 2017, students from two local schools visited TTCE. The first visit was in November by Polygraphic High School in Olomouc, which specializes in printing technologies and graphics design education. Director Takayuki Kamei, on behalf of the Graphics Division of TTCE, explained offset printing system and organized a factory tour. The students keenly listened to his explanation and asked sharp questions as “future professionals”.
The second one was in December by students majoring in Japanology at Palacký University in Olomouc. Hideo Kimura, Manager of Corporate Planning Section, gave the students an introduction to TTCE history and its products and organized a factory tour. In addition to this, TTCE prepared curry rice, Japanese soul food, for lunch, over which TTCE Japanese staff members and the students engaged in conversation in Japanese.
Even though Japanology major students have been visiting us for years, it was the first time for us to accept high school students. We gave them some knowledge on our product, and in return they gave us the power of youth, which was nice experience for us.
We, as the members of TTCE, will invite more and more local students in an effort to introduce Toray’s technology to local people, and will strive to expand our activities.
