In winter of 2017, CMA participated in a variety of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in the spirit of giving for the holidays.

Tacoma Plant held their annual “Giving Campaign.” Holiday trees were setup in each break room decorated with tags that listed a wish list from a child in need from the local community. All 60 children, from 27 families, were provided for this holiday season.

Volunteers from the Decatur Plant donated their time to help Hospice of the Valley (HOTV) located in Decatur, Alabama, and participated in the HOTV kickball tournament fundraiser; which raised 24,000 dollars from everyone attending the event. In addition, Decatur Plant participated in the Tennessee Valley (North Alabama) annual “Coat Drive,” where new or gently used jackets would be provided to those in need.

During this time, both plants partnered with United Way to hold a workplace campaign. Employees were able to choose from many United Way programs to donate to, all of which serve the local community. At the end of both campaigns, CMA raised a total of 30,000 dollars with company matching.

The Spartanburg Plant partnered with the Spartanburg Housing Authority to give employees the opportunity to “Adopt an Angel” this Christmas. A holiday tree was setup in the lobby where employees could choose a wish list from one of 133 children from the Prince Hall community; any remaining was ensured to be provided for by General Affairs Department of Spartanburg Plant.

CMA is pleased to give back to its local communities and look forward to future opportunities to do so.
