On April 12, 2018, 60 university students majoring in chemical engineering at Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Industri (STMI) Jakarta, a polytechnic university in Jakarta, and a professor visited ITS. The visit is better known as industrial visit, and we have been receiving STMI Jakarta students almost every year.
The industrial visits are conducted for the university students to study, see and learn the working and production process at ITS, which are essential knowledge for students majoring in chemical engineering. This year, they were welcomed by ITS Director Hironobu Sudo. In his speech, Sudo said that hopefully the students can gain insights regarding the process of synthetic fiber production at ITS.
We have been accepting industrial visits not only from STMI Jakarta students but also from students of other universities as part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, and also to show our concern for education, in the hope that we could be of help to college graduates in Indonesia to enable them to compete with developed countries in both theory and practice.
