【Malaysia】Penfabric Sdn. Berhad (PAB)

On 23 April 2018, PAB welcomed a delegation led by Tuan Haji Suimi Bin Abdul Majid, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Skills Development (DSD) of the Ministry of Human Resources of Malaysia, and including representatives from various related government agencies as well as trade organizations.

The main function of DSD is to evaluate the training needs, and coordinate and regulate the implementation of skills training so that the country can produce sufficient skilled workers who are trained and qualified to enhance the competitiveness of local industries in the global market. The purpose of the visit is to help the parties understand the operations of the company better with a view to kick start collaborations for skills development of the workforce.

HS Teh, Managing Director of PAB, personally hosted the delegation and expressed his gratitude for their initiative to support the upskilling and reskilling of textile workers in Malaysia as this will not only benefit the company but also provide an attractive career path and personal growth opportunity for the workers.

Tuan Haji Suimi and his delegation were very impressed with the advanced facilities, technologies and management of PAB. They pledged to work closely with the company and related trade associations to develop and enhance the skills capacity of the required workers, especially through DSD’s skills certification programs.
