TAK and TCK on June 14, 2018 donated 500 blood donation certificates collected from their employees to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation.
The companies conducted a company-wide blood donation campaign in 2017 and early 2018 and collected the blood donation certificates from the employees who donated their blood. The blood donation certificates are a system unique to Republic of Korea. A person, who has donated his or her blood and received the certificate, can receive blood donation for free by presenting the certificate to a medical institute in case of an accident or illness. The blood donation certificates can be also transferred or gifted to those who require blood transfusion. The companies utilized this system and donated the 500 certificates to the foundation.
“I hope that the warm blood donation gifts by the employees will help the children in need of blood donation as much as possible,” said Kim Eun-joo, TAK’s managing director in charge of public relations, who attended the presentation ceremony.
TAK and TCK holds blood donation campaigns twice a year with the participation of all employees. The Toray Group Companies in Korea plans to upgrade the initiative of the two companies to include all member companies participating in it.
