On May 9, 2018, about 120 of employees from TAK and TCK led by Lee Young-kwan, Toray Industries, Inc.’s Chief Representative for Korea, as part of the Korea Toray Volunteers, carried out an environmental preservation activity to remove harmful plants[1] and pick up garbage from the banks of the Saetgang River, a tributary of the Han River that runs through Seoul.

“It was quite meaningful contributing to the cleaning of the Saetgang, which is a crucial spot for restoring the ecosystem of the Han River. We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility as a company through various voluntary activities,” said Lee.

The Korea Toray Volunteers is composed of the four companies of TAK, TCK, STEMCO, Ltd. (STEMCO) and Toray Battery Separator Film Korea Limited (TBSK) and actively participate in voluntary activities such as providing support for the socially vulnerable sections of the community. Though only two companies from the Toray Korea Toray Volunteers participated in the environmental protection activity at the Saetgang, the Volunteers is planning activities where all the four member companies can jointly participate.
