The EUMS was held from December 5 to 7 in Frankfurt, Germany, with 15 manager level employees representing seven companies from six countries in Europe attending.
On the first day, Kato, Toray’s Chief Representative for Europe, in his opening speech talked about Toray’s business expansion globally as well as in Europe and expressed his expectations for the managers, following which Managing Director Richard Stephens of Toray Textiles Europe Ltd. (TTEL) explained the history of the struggles faced by TTEL and the measures taken by the company, working together as one, in making it profitable. A team management workshop was held from the afternoon of the first day and into the second day. The trainees eagerly learned effective and efficient organizational management, leadership, intercultural communication, etc. through various training drills. On the final day, Takuo Ito, CFO of Delta-Tech S.p.A. (DELTA), gave a lecture on basic Toray cost management, after which the trainees learned the details of Project AP-G 2019 as well as Toray’s global human resources management.
The three-day program ended with each of the trainees announcing what they gained in the training and how that would be put to use in their job going forward.
