Upon welcoming the New Year, the five Toray Group companies located in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Zone in Jiangsu Province, China―Toray Sakai Weaving & Dyeing (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TSD), Toray Fibers (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TFNL), Toray Polytech (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TPN), TAK Advanced Film (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TFN) and Toray Fibers & Textiles Research Laboratories (China) Co., Ltd. (TFRC)―donated to the charitable institution associated with the development zone on December 20, 2018.
The companies other than TFN have been making donations every year to the institution since 2012, and this time TFN also joined and the five companies together contributed to the charity. Over the past seven years, the total amount of donations from the Toray Group reached about 420,000 yuan, which was mainly used to help people in need who live in the development zone area. At the presentation ceremony, the presidents of the five companies handed over the donation to the development zone’s Deputy Secretary Zhou Jian. “The Toray Group companies are aware of the businesses’ social responsibility and are always interested in charities to help people in need, leading other companies by example,” said Mr. Zhou.
The Toray Group companies in Nantong, as members of the Toray Group, will continue to cooperate in charities in accordance with Toray’s corporate philosophy and contribute to the development of the local community.
