PAB Mill 4 is located in Penang, one of the 13 states of Malaysia. In 2009, the Penang State Government and the Penang State Water Authority jointly launched the “Aqua Save” Programme to recognize water-friendly companies, industrial corporations, hotels, education centres, government departments as well as non-business organizations. Organizations who participate in this programme are evaluated on the amount of water savings they manage to achieve; their internal policies and procedures; innovation and cost-effectiveness of the technologies used; initiatives, activities and commitment to water conservation.
PAB Mill 4 first participated in the programme in 2016 as part of its continuous efforts to be a green and sustainable operation. It successfully obtained the Aqua Save Sustainable Water Management Certification in October 2016, valid for two years, and again in September 2018 which came with a small cash incentive of 1,500 ringgit. More importantly, PAB secured the right to use the “Aqua Save” logo on the company’s publicity materials to showcase its water-friendly credentials.
In line with Toray’s Corporate Guiding Principles, PAB will continue to place top priority on and actively promote environmental preservation.
