TAK and TCK together have been carrying out various volunteer activities for less fortunate people in the local community at the end of every year as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity.
The companies held the Santa Claus of Love, one such volunteer activity, on December 20, 2018. It is carried out under the supervision of Gumi YMCA with support by TAK and TCK and this year marked the 15th time the activity was held. Some 30 employees of the companies sent memorable gifts to about 40 children, from single parent households and multicultural families[1] in Gumi City, living in tough conditions.
The employees dressed in Santa Claus and reindeer costumes visited the selected households in teams of three and handed gifts such as toys, protective gear for cold weather and school supplies along with encouraging messages to the children. They also took pictures with the children and gave it to them so that the visit would linger in their memory.
The employees who participated in the activity said they hoped that their visit would turn out to be a memory that would keep the children warm through the cold winter.
[1] Multicultural family: refers to families from international marriage, those of foreign workers and North Korean refugees.
