On November 1, 2018, CMA had begun a series of annual winter corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities across three plants of Tacoma, Decatur and Spartanburg, many of which included partnering with local organizations in order to connect with those in need.
In Washington, Tacoma Plant’s annual Giving Campaign event began with their United Way (the largest charitable organization in the country) drive, where employees donated over 14,500 dollars as well as several hygienic items as well. In the second half of the event, Tacoma Plant gathered 55 wish lists from children in need with the help of the Community Connections team of Bethel School District, in which the plant is located. By the end of the event, over 450 gifts were donated to the 55 children, enough to stuff two full-sized vehicles!
Over in Decatur in Alabama, Decatur Plant partnered with Families and Children Experiencing Separation (F.A.C.E.S.) to “adopt” seven children for the Christmas holiday. The plant collected more than 2,100 dollars in donations including several gift donations. With the funds raised, every single item on each child’s wish list were purchased and delivered.
Meanwhile at Spartanburg Plant in South Carolina, the team partnered with the Spartanburg Housing Authority to ensure every child supported by the organization received a coat and hat for the upcoming winter months. Spartanburg Plant was able to raise over 80 items which were directly handed out to each family by CMA employees.
We applaud all of our employee’s efforts and time taken to make sure those in need could have an enjoyable holiday and look forward to the next planned CSR activity.
