The Toray Group companies in India held the Toray Forum 2019 on February 11, 2019 at a hotel in Delhi, India.
The forum was planned by Toray Group companies in India for the first time with the aim of further improving the Toray brand image within India by familiarizing the numerous stakeholders about Toray’s management philosophy, advanced materials and technology, and was based on theme of “Growth and Sustainability” this time taking the social and economic condition of the nation.
Toray Industries, Inc. Executive Vice President Yukichi Deguchi, who attended the event representing the Toray Group, explained that Toray Group’s mission is to offer innate solutions for the various challenges faced by the world in balancing development and sustainability through innovative technologies and advanced materials. Subsequently, the distinguished educationists and college professors from across India who were invited guests delivered lectures focused on water environment issues and water treatment technologies.
Subsequently, Gohei Yamamura, General Manager of R&D (Water Treatment) Department at Toray International India Private Limited (TIID), who is currently doing joint research on water treatment at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, delivered a lecture on “Water treatment technology R&D at Toray” and Satoshi Shimomura, General Manager of Water Treatment Division of Toray talked about “Toray’s water treatment business,” bringing the event to a successful completion.
The Toray Group companies in India will strive to improve Toray’s presence in India through various means including the continued holding of the Toray Forum.
