The ninth SCMS for section managers at Toray Group companies in South China was held on March 14 and 15, 2019 at Toray Film Products (Zhongshan) Ltd. (TFZ) located in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, and 26 people participated from the nine Group companies in the region.
The seminar is held to enhance the section managers’ understanding of Toray’s management philosophy and the business strategy of the Toray Group in China and to improve the management skills required of section managers.
On the seminar’s first day, the training started off with a lecture by Takahito Teramoto, General Manager of Personnel & Administration Dept. of TSCH, on Toray’s global expansion strategy and Medium-Term Management Program, Project AP-G 2019 as well as its human resource development policy.
Subsequently, there were lectures by external lecturers on the theme of the nine elements of leadership followed by case study and group discussions, and the attendees learned a lot about self-growth and factors essential for leaders. At the end of the seminar, the participants closely examined their own management tasks and prepared and presented the action plan for improving their skills. They also exchanged opinions and expertise about the difficulties and issues they face in their job as section managers and the session was a very rewarding one for the attendees.
We hope that those who attended the seminar will put into practice what they have learned and play active roles in their respective positions.
