KTSF held a Korea Toray scholarships investiture ceremony on February 28, 2019 at the Seoul Head Office of Toray Advanced Materials Korea Inc. (TAK), where KTSF awarded scholarships to 15 science and technology university students selected from across the Republic of Korea for the first academic term (March to June) for fiscal year 2019.
The scholarship is granted with the aim of supporting those students who find it difficult to continue with their academics due to economic reasons, and the students, who are chosen after taking into account their academic performance, etc., are granted a maximum of three million won for a single term (the payment period is limited to one term and scholarship students are chosen for first and second academic terms [September–December] respectively). At the ceremony, General Manager of TAK’s Human Resources Support Division Lee Seung-hoon, who also serves as the Director of KTSF, offered words of encouragement to the scholarship winners and his expectations for their future success while presenting the scholarship certificate to each of the winners.
KTSF, which was established in January 2018 as a public interest incorporated foundation, in addition to offering scholarships to such students who major in science and technology, is involved in projects for the development of science and technology in Korea such as Korea Toray Science and Technology Awards for researchers who have made remarkable contributions toward the development of basic and applied researches in the chemical and materials fields as well as granting Korea Toray Science and Technology Research Funds for projects whose success is expected to significantly contribute to the progress and development of science and technology in the future.
“I will work hard to contribute to the development of science and technology in Korea by studying harder,” said one of the students who received the scholarship expressing his gratitude.
