On the brisk morning of Sunday, April 28, 2019, Zoltek US employees and their families came together in support of a local animal rescue organization, Needy Paws Rescue at nearby Creve Coeur Park in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
Needy Paws Rescue was hosting its annual “Paws in the Park” walk/run to raise money for their work rescuing dogs in the St. Louis area. This event is their largest fundraiser each year with approximately 175 runners and walkers. This year, Zoltek US was proud to sponsor the event for the first time. In addition to the sponsorship, over 15 Zoltek US employees, from all levels of the organization, and their family members participated in either the six-kilometer run or the one-mile walk, including some of our four-legged family members.
The race was challenging, but all were able to complete it successfully. The path took runners around a popular lake in a beautiful park near the Zoltek US corporate headquarters in St. Louis. After the race, the team gathered together and spent time getting to know one another’s families and dogs―a good time was had by all.
This event was organized by the Corporate Wellness Committee at Zoltek US, a group that works to create a strong and supportive culture of health and wellness within the organization through a wide array of activities and programs.
