On March 13, 2019, Lee Young-kwan, Toray Industries, Inc.’s Chief Representative for the Republic of Korea, held a lecture based on the theme of “Success of Global Leading Materials Company TAK” at the large lecture hall of Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), one of the top universities in Asia, for professors in the Chemical Engineering Department and about 150 students of the university.
Lee introduced the factors contributing to TAK’s success, which are close cooperation with Toray in Japan, quality and technological competitiveness, innovative plant design, transparent corporate culture with active communications, and passionate leadership.
Following the lecture, an opening event was held for the TAK Professor Emeritus Room established in the Environmental Engineering Building. The room will be utilized by professors emeritus of the Chemical Engineering Department as a place for information exchange and for preparing for lectures to convey their academic knowledge and abilities to junior scholars.
TAK has been supporting the POSTECH ever since it signed an agreement with POSTECH to support the graduate school and human resource development with the aim of promoting science and technology and R&D in 2016.
