All too often children are the innocent victims during family crisis. The Salvation Army has six residential homes in Malaysia that provide care and protection for such children and young people, because every child matters.
As part of TMS’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, 18 TMS employees, including Managing Director Peter Chan and Director Yoko Ohashi, organized a team building event at the Salvation Army Children’s Home in Penang on 20 July 2019, in the belief that it will help to build the young people’s confidence and equip them for the future.
The children, together with TMS staff, were grouped into teams and competed enthusiastically with one another in some fun and engaging games. While everyone went all out to win the prizes on offer, the true value of the activities lies in motivating the children to enhance their creative thinking, communication, teamwork and leadership skills. At the same time, TMS staff enjoyed the satisfaction of giving back to the local community through volunteering their time and energy.
During the visit, TMS also donated a new sofa set to improve the Home’s facilities. The event concluded with a simple lunch sponsored by TMS, with fond and happy memories of a wonderful and rewarding experience for all participants.
