On July 19-20, 2019, the first EACC overall management workshop was conducted at a hotel close to the EACC in Stuttgart, Germany. The main objective of this workshop was to identify business opportunities and challenges for EACC within the next two years and to derive aligned short- and mid-term objectives for the company.

As this was also the first common meeting of all German and Japanese managers, an experienced external trainer took care to ensure intercultural sensitivity and communication. Also Yutaka Kutsuzawa, General Manager of Human Resources at Toray Industries Europe GmbH (TEU), participated in this event as an observer.

The management team with cross functional and intercultural members defined several areas of improvement and prioritized and clustered the identified objectives. All participants defined internal responsibilities for all agreed objectives. As a next step, the results will be used to support the upcoming budget process and to communicate to EACC employees. This process will be supported by the HR business partners[1] and will happen within the next three months.

After a day and a half of intense discussions and team exercises, all participants gave positive feedback about the content and results of this meeting. EACC CEO Takashi Yoshiyama appreciated the constructive cross functional dialogue and the motivation of all participants and asked all managers and HR business partners to continue their successful work for the EACC in this manner.
