Toray cooperated in a training titled "Problem solving activities in science" targeting 45 elementary school teachers, which was held on August 12, 2019 at the Chiyoda Campus of Tokyo’s Otsuma Women’s University as part of the Teaching License Renewa[1] Lectures (Option: Elementary Schools).
After a lecture by Mr. Masayuki Ishii, Professor of the Department of Child Studies, Faculty of Home Economics of the university, which is the sponsor, the participating teachers performed Toray’s scientific experiment program "Water Filtration and Earth’s Environment" as a practical example. Subsequently, Toray’s Shinichi Minegishi, General Manager of MF & UF Membrane Products Dept., introduced the teachers to the effect Toray’s advanced materials and technologies are having on the society, touching in particular on the utilization and mechanism of water treatment membrane technology in the society, using actual cases as examples.
Given the high level of interest shown by the participating teachers in the program, we were able to once again realize the significance of the activities to support science teaching.
