CMA Spartanburg Plant participated in an annual event for high school students called “South Carolina Manufacturing Day” held on October 2 and 3, 2019.
The purpose of the event is to educate local high school students on the many manufacturing jobs available in the area, and discuss with them what skill sets companies like CMA look for when hiring new employees. More than 5,000 students from 10 different high schools participated in the event, and more than 20 local companies had booths and interacted with the students.
This was the fourth year the event was held and we have been participating in the event from its first year. This year, many students visited our booth and we also had a special guest. South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, who attended the event, stopped by the CMA booth and asked many good questions about our Spartanburg products, business and customers.
This event was a great opportunity for CMA and Toray Group to be recognized by our community and our local students. We are looking forward to participating in this annual event in the future.
