The East and North China Safety Meeting for Toray Group companies in the eastern and northern China regions was held on January 15, 2020 at Toray Fibers & Textiles Research Laboratories (China) Co., Ltd. (TFRC) in Nantong, China.
There were 88 participants from 15 companies. President Qin Zhaoqiong of Toray Sakai Weaving & Dyeing (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TSD) delivered the opening speech and the special safety award was presented to Toray Medical (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. (TMQ), which maintained its zero accident and zero occupational injury record.
Subsequently, Toray Industries (China) Co., Ltd. (TCH) delivered the keynote address on behalf of Toray Industries, Inc.’s Environment & Safety Dept., which featured valuable information on occupational accidents in 2019, analysis of occupational accidents that occurred in China, thorough compliance with basic safety rules, improvement of awareness regarding the rules, and activities to eliminate similar accidents.
Following the address, Toray BlueStar Membrane Co., Ltd. (TBMC), Toray Fibers (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TFNL), and TFRC presented reports on their safety activities. The participants actively asked questions and offered advices regarding the reports and it proved to be a good opportunity for making further improvement in the activities of these companies and for rolling out the activities to other group companies.
After the reports, TCH Chairman Kazuhiko Shuto reviewed the safety activity reports and instructed each company to raise safety awareness, ensure the basics of safety, and achieve perfect zero accident and zero occupational injury record in 2020.
Finally, all participants performed the pointing and calling of the safety slogan and ended the safety meeting with renewed resolution for safety.
